A shopper on Sep 21, As I recall, the original SD card contain only a customized version of slicer software and some test prints that are equivalent to many that can be found on the net.
The slicer software was a customized version of Cura by Ultimaker. An updated version of Cura can be downloaded from the Ultimaker site. If you go on the net, you can find detailed instructions as to how to set it up for the Maker Select. I think that if you are so bold and put your email address up, someone could email you the essential files off the SD card. It is a little easier to use the customized version of Cura off the card but it is a little out of date.
Just found this link. I hope it helps. There were a few sample objects to print and a pre-configured version of Cura slicing software. Cura has been updated several times and can be uploaded from Ultimaker dot com. I think that you need to contact Monoprice, the SD card should have not only have the software for Cura, but sample files that you can print right away.

Needed mods: strong aluminum build plate with glass or pei.
Replace the bed leveling screws with something larger and easier to use. I print little charms and tiny working looms. But also a few stands, cups and model rockets. It's about the area of a soda can if it were square. But a clever person could print chunks of a larger project and piece them together. You can print pretty much anything you want within the build size capability of the machine.

It comes in a few pieces- some assembly required. It has pretty clear instructions and takes no more than about an hour to put together. Almost completely! It requires 4 hex-head screws that they supply the Allen wrench for.

I purchased this printer and in the user's manual, it says to come to this page for the download. A shopper on May 15, It is up to date and much nicer to use. Monoprice doesn't actually host a copy of cura. As this is an import of the wanhao duplicator I3 Plus, you can download the version of cura for this printer by searching for "cura wanhao edition". However, I would recommend just downloading the newest version of cura from the ultimaker website.
I don't remember where I found the software, but I do remember that it was not easy to find don't recall finding it in this website. Google it. Good luck. Search cura on google. Monoprice doesn't make the software.

I recommend using a Micro Swiss all metal hot end for more exotic materials if you will consistently print above C.

No it does not have a dual extruder. A shopper on Mar 26, The printer doesn't have wifi itself, so you would have to do something like add a Raspberry Pi with OctoPrint installed.

Make sure all your ribbon cables a plugged in, alot of people forget the extruder connection on first setup!

The temp needed to print that filament is too high for the feeder tube. Yes, this printer can be upgraded to an all metal hot end. I have installed the Micro Swiss hot end and it works very well. You can. I used the Micro Swiss all metal dealy, they'll be listed under parts for the Wanhao Duplicator i3 Plus. The Cura software that can be downloaded does not have the machine on it, and it should. It is best to use the software from the sd card to start with, it is much easier to understand and use. We recommend Cura as the default slicing software for all schools as it is free of charge, powerful, quick to slice and very easy to get started with. I just bought a Monoprice MP10 and there are no settings for it in the Cura software.

So the version that comes with the Ultimate gets the job done, but it is old and doesn't have many features.
The new version of Cura doesn't work out of the box, and needs to be tweaked to work properly. So here you're going to learn what you need to do to make Cura work perfectly with this printer! You put the start gcode in the left panel, and the stop gcode in the right panel. Easy enough. Make sure to erase anything that was there previously. Some of these can be changed to user preference, like print speed, layer height, etc.
These settings will make a really good raft for when you need one. The other settings, like travel speed and print speed, are what I personally consider a good middle ground that doesn't push things too much and doesn't produce quality issues for basic prints.
